Situated in North Western Slovenia we are in the heart of some of the best areas for fishing. Our accommodation boasts a blend of warm hospitality, creature comforts and excellent cuisine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Set in a picturesque rural location The Retreat is surrounded by unspoiled countryside with a variety of wildlife and birds in our garden, meadows and woodland. The spacious guest rooms are individually designed and furnished with your comfort and relaxation in mind. There is also an independent two room apartment with fantastic views.
Our comfortable lounge has a fly tying desk and offers a quiet corner for reading. Meet up after a day of fishing and chat and relax amongst friends.

Outdoor Pursuits: There are wonderful walks; literally right from the doorstep with a further selection in the area and beyond with or without a guide. Bird watching, butterflies, wild flower, orchid observing, and many other sporting and outdoor countryside pursuits are also available. Holiday Information for Guests Travelling from the UK
By Air
With daily flights departing from most local airports in the UK to either Trieste, Venice Marco Polo, or Treviso in Italy. Transfer to our accommodation in Slovenia is by car or private taxi. There is also an option for self drive with car hire from the airport, – the choice is yours. For all self-drive guests we supply routes from the airport, and with a drive time of just over two hours from Venice, and less from Trieste, this is a great option for those of you who like to be independent, and have more flexibility. Flights also operate from London airports in the UK and Eire to Ljubljana, from where we would be happy to arrange a private taxi transfer, or car-hire.
By Train
There are daily trains from London St Pancras (Eurostar) via Paris to Venice (TrenItalia) with connections to Trieste Airport or Gorizia. You also have an option to travel by train to Most na Soči from Ljubljana.
By Car
Self drive from Britain via Calais through Belgium, Germany, Austria, to Slovenia. The route is fairly straight-forward travelling on some excellent motorways through some very interesting landscapes. Details of our self drive route are available, with distances, approximate timings, and suggestions for some recommended overnight stops en-route.
